For individual Postdoc positions in our research groups please review the open positions page or contact the group leader directly.
Our groups also participate in the EU-funded Vienna International Postdoctoral Program VIP2. VIP2 is a three-year postdoctoral fellowship program that is open to candidates with backgrounds in biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, engineering, computer science, and bioinformatics. VIP2 will publish three international calls for a total of 45 fellows (15 in each call). Fellows will select a main research group and academic mentor according to their specific project and will be supported by a second mentor from the Vienna BioCenter biotech sector or from our alumni network. Please refer to the programme website for more information about current calls and recruiting groups.
All Postdocs at the Max Perutz Labs are eligible to participate in in a range of courses and seminars aimed at developing transferable skills, like communication & presentation, project management, grant writing, or leadership.
The Postdoc association at the Max Perutz Labs works to encourage both the professional and social development of its members. The Postdoc representatives are in close contact with the directorate to discuss any community related topics. The Max Perutz Labs Postdocs are part of the larger Vienna BioCenter Postdoc community.
The community provides a platform for Postdocs to connect, and to develop their scientific careers through courses, workshops, and social events. There is also an annual retreat to enhance the skills of members, that provides an opportunity for networking amongst the community.
